Best of Panama

The Best of Panama is for those not-so-adventerous travelers who would prefer to stay on the beaten track. This tour includes some of the same as the Panama Discovery Tour but has been cut a bit shorter for those who don't have the time to spare on a vacation. It includes a city tour, a Panama Canal Zone tour, a Panama Canal transit, a visit to theEmbera Indian village, a visit to Summit Gardens - a botanical garden with an aviary full of tropical birds including Macaws, Tucans, a Harpy Eagle and a small zoo with animals indigenous to Panama.

Itinerary and Details

Day 1, Wednesday - Arrival at Tocumen Airport and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2, Thursday - Guided morning city tour and guided afternoon Panama Canal Zone tour takes in the sites of Panama Viejo, the oldest city on the Pacific side of the Isthmus, Casco Viejo, and modern Panama City, and the Panama Canal Zone. This is an all day tour. BL

Day 3, Friday - A round trip train ride on the World's first trans-continental train for a tour to historic Portobelo, This is an all day tour. BL

Day 4, Saturday - On our full Panama Canal transit, the vessel departs from the Pacific port at 7:30 a.m. sharp and usually returns to the Pacific port around 6:30 p.m. depending on traffic in the canal (and on the highway). See About our Transits. Buffet aboard the vessel. See About our Transits.

Day 5, Sunday - Return to Tocumen Airport for your trip home. B
